Danville Middle School teacher Karen Melson and centurion Mildred Stephenson were inducted into the Alabama 4-H Hall of Fame on March 18.

They and 22 other inductees were recognized at a special ceremony, which was sponsored by the Alabama 4-H Environmental Science Foundation and conducted at the Alabama 4-H and Youth Development Center in Columbiana.

Awards were presented by Lamar Nichols, assistant director of the 4-H Youth and Development Center. Sarah Stephenson accepted on behalf of her grandmother who was unable to attend.

Melson was nominated by Sharon Fisher, Morgan County 4-H agent assistant and Stephenson was nominated by the Morgan County Extension staff.

The 4-H Hall of Fame recognizes individuals and organizations that have had a significant impact on the 4-H Youth Development Program and its members and leaders.
