Zeretha Karleen Vandiver Parker Wallace

Funeral for Zeretha Karleen Vandiver Parker Wallace, 80, of Decatur was Wed., Aug. 4, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Callahan officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Ms. Wallace died Mon., Aug. 2, 2010, at Decatur Heath and Rahab Center. She was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Morgan County to James Leldon Vandiver and Audrey Mozelle Stephenson Vandiver. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and a loving mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles Vandiver and Jerry Vandiver, and three sisters, Jimmie Jeffries, Betty Thompson and Norma Boger.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Parker of Huntsville and Kelly Wallace of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Frieda Parker Layton and husband Don of Danville and Linda Parker Herndon of Decatur; three brothers, Dale Vandiver and Larry Vandiver, both of Hartselle and Rod Vandiver of Huntsville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Moon, Darrell Thompson, Dillon Vandiver, Carlos Alemarrivera, Zack Wallace and Eddie Barnett.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Decatur, AL.
