Hartselle posts 30 runs in doubleheader against Austin

Hartselle’s baseball team continued its winning ways against Austin Tuesday night, defeating the Black Bears 17-4 and 13-4.

In the first game, Brett Blackwood blistered Austin’s pitching, going 4-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and five RBIs.

Daniel Conley also went 4-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Chris Brown finished 3-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored.

Deacon Aldridge also finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs, a double and two runs.Tanner Oaks also drove in two runs on a 1-for-2 performance. Tyler Phillips, Zane Hamlett, AJ Owens and Jordan Robinson all had RBIs for Hartselle.

Colton Ord earned the win, allowing one earned run on five walks and no hits with 10 strikeouts. Owens got two strikeouts in three innings of work, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk.

In Game 2, Hartselle continued its hot hitting, as Brown added another home run in a 2-for-4, two RBI performance. Aldridge also went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, a double and two runs scored.

Easton Chenault was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Zane Hamlett doubled and scored a run. Owens stole two bases, walked twice and scored twice.

Jake Whitt got the complete game win. He allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 96 pitches.
