Norma Jean Hammon

Funeral for Norma Jean Hammon, 79, of Decatur was Sun., July 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with her nephew, the Rev. Kip Faught, officiating.
Burial was in New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammon died Thur., July 15, 2010, at Parkway Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Morgan County to Joseph Max and Sally Elnora Cowan Delmore. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church in Decatur. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly. She was the niece of Country Music Hall of Famers, The Delmore Brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, C.R. ‘Connie’ Hammon of Decatur; a son, Gary Hammon and wife Diann of Decatur; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Zimmerman and husband Micah of Madison, Emily Manderson and husband Philip and Emerald Hammon, all of Decatur; two sisters, Fay Hammon of Decatur and Joy Faught of Tuscaloosa; 12 nephews; and 14 nieces.
Pallbearers were Ken Faught, Kevin Faught, Kyle Faught, Rep. Mickey Hammon, Ricky Hammon and William Hammon.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1909 Central Parkway SW, Decatur, AL 35601.
