Falkville high makes good run in indoor track

Falkville High School’s indoor track team had several of its members finish high in their events in the Class 1A-4A division of the 2013 State Indoor Track Championships at the CrossPlex in Birmingham on Friday and Saturday.

Amber Riddle paced the girls team with an 11th place finish in the 60-meter dash, 9th in the 60-meter hurdles and 15th in the 400-meter dash. Heather Smith placed 9th in the pole vault and Misty Eddy came in 9th in the shot put. The 4×200 relay team finished 11th.

In the boys division, Roy Tyler finished 6th in the shot put, Austin Wilhite came in 10th in the 60-meter hurdles and 14th in the long jump.

Relay teams finished as follows: 4×200, 9th; 4×400,fifth; and 4×800, eighth.

In other running events, Drake Hamilton finished 23rd and 26th, respectively, in the 3200 and 800 runs, Brian Bradford and Blake Bradford came in 26th and 27th, respectively, in the 1600 and Bryan White finished 31st in the 400-meter dash.
