Gene Smith

Funeral for Gene Smith, 74, of Hartselle was Saturday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Walter Blackmon officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at his residence. He was born March 15, 1936, in Greenville to Houston Joseph Smith and Cleo Ethel Helms Smith. He was a member of the East Highland Baptist Church. He served as crew chief in the U.S. Air Force and was a supervisor of a trucking company for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Smith of Hartselle; and two sisters, Chris Catrillo of Orlando, Fla. and Earline Nowling of Lakewells, Fla.
Pallbearers were Mac McMurtry, Doug Gullock, Jason Holmes, Tim Bunney, Jerry Rooks and Steve Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were Tim Abercrombie, Charles Lawrence and Sim Garner.
