Eva School PTO celebrated the success of its third annual cookie dough fundraiser by throwing a party on Friday for students who sold 18 or more items.

The 61 top sellers were treated to a limousine ride and all the pizza they could eat at Pizza Hut in Hartselle. They were shuttled to the party in a white and pink limo, K-4 at 11 a.m. and 5-8 at noon.

Savonna Graham, PTO vice president, said the party was a fitting climax to a project that raised $8,224.90 for the school.

“We were down a little from the previous year, probably due to economy,” she said,

“but we’re still very pleased. All of this money will go back into the classrooms and will benefit our children.”

Students solicited orders for cookie dough, gift wrap, gift bags and gift items from parents and neighbors for one month prior to Thanksgiving and returned filled orders prior to the Christmas break. Sales totaled $19,202.

“We had great participation from the student body and lots of support from the community, Graham pointed out. “We’re so thankful to everyone who helped make the fundraiser a big success.”
