A memorial service for James O. Posey, 82, of Decatur, will be Wed., Jan. 9, (today), at 1 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Smothers officiating.

Mr. Posey died Fri., Jan. 4, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 15, 1930, in Colbert County to Hugh Earl Posey and Maveleah McCormick Posey. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Leighton and attended New Friendship Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Posey, Hugh J. Posey and Leon Posey; three sisters, Gladys Gower, Rachel Brumley and Louise Wimberly; and a grandson, Logan Marsh.

He is survived by a son, James E. Posey and wife Judy Stephens Posey of Columbus, Ind.; four daughters, Belinda G. Reed of Russellville, Laquita Bruce of Huntsville, Tammy Marsh of Falkville and Brenda Posey of Priceville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
