Ross Leon Sims

Funeral for Ross Leon Sims, 72, of Priceville, will be Thursday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. P. J. Jenkins, Otto Yount and Gary Webster officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mr. Sims died Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a member of the Somerville Church of God. He served in the National Guard, was retired as a machine operator at Wolverine Tube after 36 years and a former employee at Meadow Gold Dairy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bessie Sue Gay Sims, and four brothers, Herbert D. Sims, James Sims, Thomas Sims and Arthur Lelton Sims and one sister, the late Doris Virginia Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Grantland) Sims of Decatur; two daughters, Jennifer Berry of North Richland Hills, Texas and Charlotte Blankenship of Priceville; two brothers, Dan Sims, Jr. and Joe Russell Sims, both of Decatur; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Haynie.
Pallbearers will be Ken Haynie, Marko Sims, Kenneth Hamilton, Norman Fuqua, Terry Johnson and Bobby Thornsburg.
