Falkville gets in the Christmas Spirit

Falkville Community Pride did their part to help spread Christmas cheer Sunday afternoon.

Numerous town residents and others participated in the 15th annual Falkville Christmas in the Park at Jack McCaig Park.

Tina Rogers, a member of the organization and an organizer of the annual celebration, said the purpose helps spread the Christmas spirit.

“It just gets the season off to a good start,” Rogers said. “This is something we just enjoy doing each year. We have a lot of fun and I think it’s something our community looks forward to ever year.”

The celebration included a presentation of the colors by Falkville and Brewer Junior ROTC members, music by the Falkville High School band and a reading by retired teacher Rhona Summerford about the history of the Christmas tree. Jim Grissom served as emcee.
