Hawks win two in tourney play

Danville’s Hawks won two of three game and finished third in the Marx Optical Thanksgiving Classic at Priceville High School last week.

The Hawks had wins over Brindlee Mountain, 52-45, and Ardmore, 42-35, before losing to Lawrence County High School, 46-75.

Against Brindlee Mountain Patrick Doherty led the Hawks with 15 points. Kyle Alexander followed with nine points while Slater Robinson added seven and Tyler Fields six.

Tyler Daniel had 13 points for Brindlee Mountain.

In the Ardmore game, Danville’s Doherty, Justin Morgan and Robinson each had nine points.

Doherty led the Hawks against West Limestone with 12 points. Morgan added 11 and Robinson scored seven.

Jesse Childers paced the winners with 18 points.
