Falkville qualifies six runners for state

Six members of Falkville High School’s girls and boys cross country teams qualified for the Class 2A state championships at Oakville Indian Mounds on Saturday.

Four boys qualified at a section meet at Cold Springs on Saturday. They are Blake Bradford, who finished in 6th place with a time of 18:12.7; his twin, Brian Bradford, who came in 10th with a time of 18:23.55; Brendon Shadden, who finished 19th with a time of 19:21.

All four runners are freshmen and all recorded season best times.

Girls who qualified were Patricia Kilgore, who came in 8th with a time of 21:18.7 and Caitlin Kilgore, who finished 27th with at time of 24:57.71.

Falkville’s boys came in fourth and missed qualifying the entire team for the state meet by 20 points.

Other members of the boy’s team are Caleb Ward, Clay Kyle, William Littrell and Jacob Walling.
