Some of the money a pair of former Decatur swim team coaches allegedly took from their organization was from the Hartselle club, according to court documents.
Peter Walker and his wife, Anna, are accused of taking more than $9,000 from the Decatur Wave Swim Team. Prosecutors also allege the pair altered checks paid to the Decatur Parks and Recreation Department, including money from the Hartselle swim team.
The Walkers are charged with 10 counts of first-degree theft and 10 counts of second-degree forgery for money. Peter Walker is the son of Decatur Parks and Recreation Director Julian Walker.
Prosecutors allege the pair also changed checks in order to take money from the swim teams in Albertville, Fort Payne, Boaz, Guntersville, Scottsboro, Oneonta and Madison.
The Walkers have denied using any of the team's money for personal gain or taking any funds from other groups.
The couple are free from the Morgan County Jail on $10,000 bonds.
