The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) – Tennessee Valley chapter presented a check for $4,500 to representatives of the John Mark Stallings Special Needs Accessible Playground (SNAP) at NAIFA’s regular meeting on Sept. 27.

The donation was the proceeds from the annual charity golf tournament held on Aug. 13, 2012, at the Burningtree Country Club. NAIFA is one of numerous organizations that have repeatedly donated funds during the six-year drive to complete the three-phase facility in Hartselle.

The playground serves children of all ages and abilities and is specifically designed and built in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act, to serve an estimated 1,700 challenged children within Morgan County.

Already completed are the swing area (Phase I), the Splash Pad (Phase II) and a pavilion (the first increment of Phase III). The second increment of Phase III, the grand entrance is nearing completion.

The main playground, the final increment of Phase III, is expected to begin in the spring of 2013 (depending upon availability of funds). This project relies entirely upon donations of money, time, and effort.

Continued individual, business and corporate donations are essential to completion, and SNAP invites you to seek an opportunity to help. Every donation moves SNAP closer to the goal of making a difference in the lives of special needs children and their families.

Visit www.snapplayground.org for more information and send donations to: SNAP of Hartselle, P. O. Box 512, Hartselle, AL 35640. SNAP is 501c3 approved for tax deductible donations.
