Hartselle Week 8 game notes

Tiger Homecoming: Tonight is the 2012 homecoming game for Hartselle High School. Members of the homecoming court are Sloan Sittason – Freshman, Katy Beth Bole – Sophomore, Morgan Prince – Junior, Arin Eddy – Senior, Brooke Wilson – Senior, Quanesha Burks – Senior, Madeline Sittason – Junior, Allie Roden – Sophomore and Olivia Godsey – Freshman. The homecoming queen will be named at halftime.

Hartselle dominates to get back on track: Last week, the Tigers dominated West Point 45-0. The Warriors had just three first downs for the game and allowed just 23 yards. Hartselle was balanced with 216 passing and 217 rushing. A large number of players got in the game as the Tigers ended their two-game losing streak.

Opponents in common: In the four common opponents that Hartselle and East Limestone have played, Hartselle is 3-1 while East Limestone is 2-2. The Tigers’ loss was to Muscle Shoals while the Indians lost to Muscle Shoals and Cullman. In those four games, East Limestone scored 25 points per game and allowed 20.75 points. Hartselle scored 30.5 points per game and allowed 12.5 points.

Stats leaders for Hartselle: Deacon Aldridge is on pace to eclipse his passing numbers from a season ago. He is 80 of 131 for 929 yards with seven touchdowns and three interceptions. He also has 404 yards rushing on 75 attempts with four touchdowns. Blake Slayton is the leading rusher with 641 yards on 99 attempts with eight touchdowns. He also has 17 receptions for 149 yards with a touchdown. Sidney Steele is the leading receiver with 442 yards on 30 catches with four touchdowns. Preston Adams also added 15 catches for 136 yards and a touchdown. Tanner Oakes has 182 yards receiving on 10 catches. Zane Hamlett has only caught five passes this season, but he has two receiving touchdowns.
