Rodney Kent Brooks

Memorial services for Rodney Kent Brooks, 60, of Hartselle will be Mon., Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. at Priceville Church of Christ, with Bro. Mike Rhodes officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Brooks died Tues., Oct. 9, 2012, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born June 14, 1952 to James C. and Maud McGlocklin Brooks. He retired from Delphi after 30 years of service. He was an elder and song director at Priceville Church of Christ, an active member of the community, active in Al-Anon, and served as delegate for three years for the state of Alabama and Northwest Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lynne Brooks of Hartselle; two sons, Jared Kent Brooks and wife Kristine of Cullman and Anthony Blair Brooks and wife Danielle of Hartselle; his parents, James C. and Maud Brooks of Hartselle; a brother, Rickey Dale Brooks of Hartselle three sisters, Sharon Farmer of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Lori Sheppard of Hartselle and Lisa Brooks of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren, Melinda Lynne Brooks, McKenzie Ann Boyett and Zoe Mae Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be, John Sharp, Steve Duke, Norm Langlois, Jamie Sparkman, Bob Dickinson and Randy Beck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rodney Brooks Memorial Fund, Priceville Church of Christ Rodney Brooks Memorial Building Fund, 143 Robinson St., Decatur, AL 35603.
