2 charged with burglary, vehicle break-ins

Two men have been arrested following a burglary and a number of vehicle break-ins along Nelson Street in Hartselle early Wednesday morning.

Brandon Ray Roberts, 18, of 1694 Neel School Road in Danville and Daniel Lamar Knight, 19, of 612 Morgan St., Apt. 4-A, in Hartselle were both charged with burglary in the second degree, burglary in the third degree and burglary of an automobile.

The two suspects were taken to the Morgan County Jail, each facing a $60,000 bond. According to a Hartselle Police Department press release, they could also face additional charges for automobile burglaries.

A homeowner on Nelson Street woke up about 3 a.m. Wednesday and discovered that the front door of his house was open and that someone had been inside the house. The victim also reported that his vehicles had been burglarized.

Responding officers located the suspects in the neighborhood and arrested them. Officers also discovered that other vehicles had been burglarized in the neighborhood.

Hartselle Police also indicated that stolen property was located in the area and was in possession of the suspects.
