Hartselle police seek old photos, memorabilia

By By Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer
Hartselle Police Department is looking for old photographs, newspaper clippings and other dated memorabilia that would be useful in putting together a documented history of the department, covering more than 125 years.
Puckett said the first priority of the initiative is to collect photographs of former police chiefs and display them on the walls of the public hallway in the police department complete with names and dates of service.
Also sought are old photos and/or newspaper clippings that depict police officers doing their jobs as well as memorabilia such as handcuffs, slapsticks, uniform patches, badges, etc.
These items will be displayed in showcases and scrapbooks.
Puckett said he has enlisted Bob Jaques, a local historian known for his air flight and space collections, to assist the department in the cataloging and display of contributions. He said he also hopes to get the support of Hartselle Historic Society.
To make a contribution or receive additional information about the project, you are encouraged to contact Chief Puckett in person, call him at 751-4911 or email him at rpuckett@Hartselle.org.
