Morgan unemployment at 8.1 percent

Morgan County’s unemployment rate has dropped 0.3 percent to 8.1 percent for the month of August 2012.
According to data released by the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations, 4,619 workers in Morgan County are without jobs while 52,606 are currently employed. Both numbers dropped in August 2012 from July 2012, when 52,832 were employed and 4,855 were unemployed.
Alabama’s seasonally adjusted employment rate increased from 8.3 percent in July 2012 to 8.5 percent in August 2012.
