Danville wins 2, loses 1 in tourney

Danville’s Lady Hawks (16-9) won two games and lost one in pool play at the Wallace State Volleyball Tournament on Friday.

The Lady Hawks picked up wins against Winston County, 16-25, 25-18, 15-8 and Curry, 18-25, 25-13, 15-9. They lost to Deshler, 25-11, 25-18.

Sydni Shelton had a combined 36 kills, seven blocks and 17 digs to lead the Lady Hawks. Megan Luker had 13 kills, Charlee Anderson added 47 assists and eight aces, Kellee Stiles had 14 digs and Sloan Lindsey had four aces.

Lady Hawks earn sweep at Hanceville

Danville swept area foe Hanceville 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-8) and Cullman 2-0 (25-15, 25-20) in a tri-match Monday. Shelton earned 14 kills, five blocks and five digs. Luker had 12 kills and four digs while Carter added 11 kills. Anderson had 26 assists and Lindsey chipped in seven aces and four digs. Stiles had six aces.
