J.W. "Joe" Eaton

Funeral for J.W. “Joe” Eaton, 85, of Hartselle will be Fri., Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden with full military honors. Visitation will be Thur., Sept. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Eaton died Tues., Sept. 18, 2012, at Decatur Morgan Hospital – Parkway campus. He was born May 18, 1927, in Arkansas to Alton H. Eaton and Bonnie L. Moore Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a member of Danville Baptist Church. He was a retired lieutenant commander for the U.S. Navy. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodworking and loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona Lee Paul Eaton of Hartselle; a son, Mike Eaton and wife Karen of Hartselle; four daughters, Aleta Haynes of Crossville, Tenn., Robin Adams of Bryan, Texas, and Angela Traylor and husband Bryce and Melinda Steele and husband Freddie, both of Decatur; two sisters, Hazel Parker and Martha Carol of Hartselle; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The military will provide pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Eaton, Josh Haynes, Michael Eaton, Brian Mills, Bryce Traylor, Anthony Hallmark, Freddie Steele and Derek Eaton.
