Carl Lee Buegel

Funeral for Carl Lee Buegel, 48, of Gardner, Ill., was Mon., Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home, Braidwood Chapel.

Burial with military honors was in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.

Mr. Buegel died suddenly Mon., Sept. 10, 2012, at his home. He was born Jan. 3, 1964, in Chicago, Ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served several tours of duty, including Grenada, Panama, Desert Storm and Somalia. He was decorated with the Bronze Star while serving in Panama and was a member of the VFW in Morris, Ill. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Carl was very comical and was known for his great personality.

He was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Donald Otto Buegel.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Watkins Buegel of Gardner, Ill.; 10 children, Carlos Donald Buegel and Donald Hamilton, both of California, Aaron Buegel, Angela Buegel and Carl Buegel Jr., all of Georgia, and Anthony Buegel, Samantha Buegel, Brittany Buegel, Victoria Buegel and Alexandria Buegel, all of Gardner, Ill.; a granddaughter, Justice Hamilton; his biological father, Charles M. Kyker of Hartselle; his mother, Gerener Brown Buegel of Gardner, Ill.; two sisters, Sandra Murrah and husband Robert of Gardner, Ill., and Deborah Kyker of Stickney, Ill.; two brothers, Charles Buegel and wife Sue of Washburn, Ill., and Ricky Buegel and wife Chris of Romeoville, Ill.; a stepsister, Donna Rasor and husband Bob of Bourbonnais, Ill.; a special friend, Sherri Davis of Romeoville, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation, 1020 19th St. NW, Suite 475, Washington, D.C., 20036, in his name would be appreciated.
