Local residents earn scholarships
Two local residents recently earned scholarships from the University of North Alabama.
Amanda Kennedy of Hartselle was recently awarded the Muscle Shoals TVA Chapter of Federally Employed Women Scholarship at the University of North Alabama.
Kennedy, a graduate of Hartselle High School, is a nursing major. She is a member of the Gamma Beta Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies.
She is the daughter of Rick and Mary Kennedy.
Eric William Terry of Trinity was awarded a leadership scholarship.
Terry, a graduate of Hartselle High School, will be a freshman at UNA this fall. He plans to major in business and broadcasting.
Terry was a member of the National Honor Society and vice president of the Key Club. He was an Alabama Boys State representative and the Alabama Boys State county coroner. He attended the Alabama Youth Summit and was the recipient of the presidential academic award and the Elks Student of the Month award.
He is the son of Bobby and Glenda Terry.
