Mandel, Powell to wed
Laura Mallett of Huntsville and Keith Mandel of Huntsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy Elisabeth Mandel of Huntsville, to Stephen Charles Powell of Hartselle, son of Craig and Valerie Powell of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Jim and Martha Mallett of Pensacola Beach, Fla., the late Margaret Mallett of Huntsville, Dorothy Mandel and the late Alfred Mandel of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
A 2002 graduate of Lee High School, she received her bachelor of science degree in exercise science with a minor in psychology. She is currently in her second year of the doctor of physical therapy program at UAB. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
The future groom is the grandson of Edna Powell and the late Charles Powell of Winfield and Wilma Looney and the late Travis Looney of Falkville. A 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School, he received his bachelor of science degree in building science from Auburn University. He is a member of Farmhouse Fraternity and is employed by KLMK Group in Birmingham.
The wedding is planned for Dec. 20, 2008 at Church of the Nativity in Huntsville.
Griffith, Roberson to wed
Mark and Karen Griffith of Hartselle and Rick and Kathy Roberson of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather LeighAnn Griffith, to Jacob Don Watts, son of Larry and Angie Watts of Falkville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Charlie and Peggy Griffith of Hartselle and Robert and Louise Tucker of Hartselle, JR and Janice Roberson of Hartselle and Mike and Loraine Cost of Falkville. A 2005 graduate of Falkville High School, she is a student at Wallace State Community College.
The future groom is the grandson of James Watts of Falkville and the late Wilma Watts and Billy and Vernell McCravy of Battleground.
A 2005 graduate of Falkville High School, he is a student at Wallace State Community College.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 18, 2008 at Fairview Church of God in Falkville.
