Evelyn Jean Atkins

A graveside service for Evelyn Jean Atkins, 90, of Danville will be Tues., Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. at Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Manly officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Mon., Aug. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Atkins passed away Sat., Aug. 25, 2012, at Parkway Medical Center. Mrs. Atkins was born Dec. 24, 1921, to Roy and Mamie Sue Hargrove. She was a member of Walden’s Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilson Atkins; and two brothers, Roy Hargrove Jr. and Billy Hargrove.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Grubb of Springfield, Ohio and Patsy Jackson and husband Terry of Mason, Ohio; a son, Wendell Atkins and wife Maranda of Danville; three sisters, Bobbie Knox, Brownie Boyle and Gail Foote; six grandchildren, Gregg Grubb, Chase Atkins, Paige Cameron, Tracey Haynes, Ryan Jackson and Brooke Stugal; a step-grandchild, Christi Prince; a step-great-grandchild, Brandon Prince; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
