Nail in top 10 at Huntsville amateur event

Hartselle’s Heather Nail posted score of +2 to move in to the top 10 of the Under Armour ® / Jeff Overton Championship on the on a par-71 course at The Ledges in Huntsville Wednesday.

The Hartselle High School junior opened the tournament with an 81 before shooting a 73 on Wednesday. She was at +12 for the tournament.

Janie Jackson of Huntsville, Ala., and Lindsey Weaver of Scottsdale, Ariz., are still neck-in-neck for the lead of the girls championship.

Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the Under Armour® / Jeff Overton Championship is a 54-hole stroke play competition played on the par-71, The Ledges. The event features 72 boys and 24 girls, ages 12-18, from nine states and two countries. The Boys Division played the course at 7,019 yards while the Girls Division played the course at 5,981 yards.
