R. Byrune Rollins is the only current Hartselle Board of Education member that will face opposition in the Aug. 28 municipal election, and he has two opponents.

Frank Jones and Venita Jones both entered the race on Tuesday, the last day of qualifying,  Frank Jones is a former councilman while Venita Jones is a retired special education coordinator for Morgan County Schools.

No other candidates qualified before the 5 p.m. deadline Tuesday. That means Monica “Monty” Vest, Randy Sparkman, Dr. James Joy and current BOE president Jennifer Sittason are now elected to serve four-year terms for Places 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
