Two charged in meth lab bust

Two people were arrested in connection with a meth lab bust Thursday night when Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant for another suspect.

During the late evening hours of July 12, Morgan County Drug Task Force agents along with patrol deputies arrested Coty Brice, 19, and 27-year-old Daniel Gable while attempting to execute an outstanding warrant for Anthony Shane Wilhite at 552 West Lacon Road in Falkville.

Upon arrival, Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents smelled a strong chemical odor associated with a methamphetamine lab surrounding the residence. Morgan County Drug Task Force agents obtained a search warrant on the residence and located the components of a meth lab along with an amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Wilhite is being sought for the arrest warrant as well as felony charges for unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Brice and Gable were both charged with unlawful manufacturing second degree, unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond has been set at $ 7,800 for both Brice and Gable.
