Robin Hood and his merry men will be invading the Hartselle Fine Arts Center this weekend.

However, it might not be the typical Robin Hood performance that most have seen in the movies or other plays.

Kathy Manning, director of Robin Hood for College Street Players, said this adaptation of Robin Hood is a musical and a comedy.

“It’s not your typical Robin Hood play,” Manning said. “A few characters have been added to the script and there’s a lot of comedy. The cast has had a lot of fun preparing this. And we hope the audience likes it as well.”

This version of Robin Hood features Jamie McKelvy as Robin Hood.

The High Sheriff of Nottingham, played by Hunter King, as a not too bright fellow. He’s also surrounded by his eccentric wife, played by Keilee Terry, and daughter Salome, played by Sophie Manning.

Terry, who is playing one of the new added roles for this production, said everyone is having a great time putting on the play together.

“We’re just like a big family out here,” Terry said. “Many of us have performed in other College Street plays. So it gives us a chance to catch up again. And we just have a great time being around each other.”

Sophie Manning, who is in her 13th performance with College Street Players, said that family gets a little bit bigger each time she comes back.

“There’s always someone new, but there’s always a lot of the same actors,” Sophie said. “It’s always fun and we just have a great time.”

The play will have performances on Friday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission to the play is $10 for adults and $8 for students.

Members of the cast are Jessie Wallace, Jamie McKelvey, Sarah Walker, Delaney Wood, Rachel McKelvey, Grace Moebes, Shane Sieweke, Chandler Crawford, Ben Crawford, Jacob Crawford, John Ballew, Emily Amos, Rachel Ryan, Daniel Walker, Will Mansell, Maggie Guyse, Trenton Welborn, Erin Kenney, Austin Woods, Brittney Lackey, Jeremiah Rhodes, Hunter King, Keilee Terry, Sophie Manning, Mally Green, Kayla Herwig, Tucker Wallace, Jesse Mashburn, Savannah Welborn, Mary Lemmond, Emma Ballew, Barret Moebes, Jenni Cate Rhodes, Maggie Guyse, Becca Faulk, Olivia Patterson and Hailey Beard.
