Arnold Wayne Hill

Funeral service for Arnold Wayne Hill, 82, was held Friday, April 5, 2024 at
1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Weldon and Bro.
Wendell Bennett officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be
in Bethel Methodist Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024 from
11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Hill died on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State
Veterans Home.  He was born Friday, April 3, 1942, in Morgan County,  to
Arnold B. Hill and Johnie Mae Johnson Hill.   

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, his
family, enjoyed hunting and fishing, riding the tractor and the
four-wheeler, loved his dog and loved racing. Mr. Hill was a member of the
Falkville United Methodist Church and was employed by USF Holland as a truck
driver for 59 years, prior to his retirement. His parents preceded him in
death.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Hill; sons, Tracy Hill and Jason Hill (Alicia); brother, Wendell B. Hill (Bonnie); sister, Marie Atkins; three grandchildren, Lyndsey Muck (Tom), Maggie Hopkins (Bradley) and Andy Hill (Jenna); great-grandchildren, Shelby and Avery Muck, Adley Hopkins and Chandler Hill.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Hill, Jason Hill, Gordan Bergstue, Andy Hill, Tom
Muck and Bradley Hopkins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Van Latham, Jerry Edge and Howell Cheatham.

Justin Wayne Dudley 
 Valhermoso Springs 

Funeral service for Justin Wayne Dudley, 72, was held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Frankie Flack officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing.  Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness
Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
at Peck Funeral Home. 

Mr. Dudley died on Monday, April 1, 2024 at his residence.  He was born
April 8, 1951, in Morgan County, to Thomas (Tom) Rye Dudley and Mable Irene
Dean Dudley. 

He was employed by Parker Hannifin as a Machine Mechanic for Industrial
Machine Maintenance, prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting
and spending time with his family and was a member of the Talucah Volunteer
Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, a
son, Christopher Dudley, two nieces and three nephews.

Survivors include his wife Betty Ann Dudley; sons, Patrick Dudley, Chad Wilson (Stephanie), Ricky Farr (Connie), Tommy Farr and Tony Farr (Melissa); daughter, Bridgett Denmark (Bryan); 15 grandchildren, David Westbrooks (Katlin), Brionna Farr (Hayden), Stormie Dudley, Brody Dudley, Brayden Dudley, Cameron Johnson, Ikey Johnson, Dustin English, Darrel Farr, John Farr, Clint Farr, Bradley Denmark, Andy Farr, Candance Farr, Chariti Farr and Shawn Farr; 22 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tony Farr, David Westrooks, Robert Dudley, Tommy Farr,
Daniel Riggins and Steven White.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Hayden Moon, Charlie Bradfield, Ikey Johnson,
Cameron Johnson and Chad Wilson.   

Linda Ann Strange Dixon 
Decatur

Funeral service for Linda Ann Strange Dixon, 57, was held Monday, April 8,
2024 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Gunter
officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Linda  was born May 30, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Emil LeeRoy
Strange, Sr. and Frances Mae Hamlett Strange.  She married Richard Dixon on
April 24, 1988, in Ester, Missouri. She moved to Alabama in 1994 along with
her husband and two children. She has since been a long-time resident of
Alabama.

She went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2024, at the young age of 57, while
surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle. Linda loved everyone and
never met a stranger. She enjoyed cooking and baking and spending time with
her grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph. She also enjoyed her Red Trucks and
Blue Angels. Most people know her as “Blue Angel”.

She was employed by Big Lots, working in Retail Sales, prior to her passing.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and was preceded in death by her
parents, a brother, Morgan Strange and a sister, Loretta Strange. She was
the youngest of 9 kids born to Emil and Frances Strange.

Survivors include her husband Richard Dixon; son, Robert Dixon; daughter – Amanda Dixon; brothers, Emil Strange, Jr. (Lisa), Ronald Strange (Kelly) and John Strange; sisters, Sanya Bailey (Rick), Sue Byers and Kay Dixon (Bill); grandchildren, Jacob Franco and Joseph Franco; mother-in-law; Roberta Stotler; sister-in-law, Jeanne Lange.
 

Shirley Sue Cook 

Shirley Sue Cook, 86, passed away in the early Morning hours of April 6, 2024.  She was born on July 16, 1937, in Morgan County. Shirley graduated from Cotaco High School and she served as the chairperson for the Morgan County Health Council during the late 70s and early 80s.  During her time as chairperson, she worked tirelessly to open and manage the East Morgan Health Clinic and institute the Morgan County Clean up.  Shirley also implemented Morgan County’s Meals-On-Wheels program.  She received numerous awards for her dedication to her community.  Shirley was a member of Center Springs Methodist Church’s choir and sang tenor for the Powers Family gospel group.  She also wrote and recorded two gospel albums.  Shirley is survived by her husband, Billy Mack Cook, who she married in 1955, her two sons and their wives, Quinn and Laura Cook and Blake and Paige Cook, her five grandchildren, Justine Layne, Daniel Cook, Jonathan Cook, Jarrod Cook, and Mallorie Whitten, and eight great grandchildren.  Funeral services were held and Center Springs United Methodist Church in Somerville on Monday. April 8, 2024, at 11:00AM with Bro. Michael Mason and Bro. Chris Nabors officiating with burial in the Red Oak Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.   Pallbearers will be Daniel Cook, John Whitten, Cellar Irvin, Milan Cayce, David Pittman and Marty Turney.

Funeral service for Gary Dee Blackwood, 74, will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024

Mr. Blackwood died on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was
born Wednesday, August 3, 1949, in Morgan County to James Arlin Blackwood
and Mary Cleo Tanner Blackwood.  Gary was a 1967 graduate of Cotaco High
School and worked 30+ years at 3M in Decatur, AL. He lived in the Rock Creek
Community of Morgan County. He loved the Lord, his family and many friends.
After retirement, he loved to garden and share with his neighbors, friends
and family. He was the best husband, daddy, and Pawpaw. We will surely miss
him, but know he is in a better place.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Frieda Collins Blackwood; sons, Kenneth Dale Blackwood (Thresea) and Patrick Shane Blackwood (Britney Sharp); grandchildren, Hunter Dale Blackwood, Holly Marshall Blackwood, Kody Sterling and Brayden Yarbrough; sister, Loretta Blackwood Patton; numerous nieces and nephews

Dorothy Jarrett Donofrio  

Funeral service for Dorothy Jarrett Donofrio, will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Holmes officiating with Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Midway Memorial Gardens. 

Mrs. Donofrio died on Friday, April 5, 2024 at her residence. She was born May 26, 1935, in Lawrence County, to Floyd James Jarrett and Walsie Dutton Jarrett. 

 She was a Head Start teacher, employed by Community Action Partnership of North Alabama. She taught for Hartselle Head Start and Danville Elementary Head Start. She was a member of the Decatur Baptist Church. 

 Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers. 

 Survivors include daughters, Jeannine Williams, Jude Parola Hooper; five grandchildren, Keleigh Horta (Keith), Matthew Harper (Kim), Corey Williams, Sydney Korhost (Nick), Max Parola (Sarah); seven great-grandchildren,  Darren Horta (Aubrie), Daniel Harper, Jackson Harper, Jessica Speegle (Braden), Michael Morris (Jaycee), Brandon Morris and Liam Grantland; three great-great grandchildren, Addie Korhost, Evie Korhost and Mason Korhost. 

 Pallbearers will be Darren Horta, Daniel Harper, Jackson Harper, Michael Morris, Brandon Morris, and Liam Grantland. 

Tammy Lee Barber

Funeral service for Tammy Lee Barber, 56 of Danville will be Wednesday,

Mrs. Barber, who was born July 17, 1967, in Three Rivers, Michigan to Garry
William Seals and Sharon Lee Shutes Seals, died on Saturday, April 6, 2024,
at Huntsville Hospital. Her Mother preceded her in death.
Survivors Include her husband, Ricky Barber; two sons, Justin Barber (Megan) Josh Barber (Jessica); father: Garry Seals; brother, Todd Roberts (Debbie) and their children, Melanie Roberts, and
Brandon Roberts; four Grandchildren: Delaney Barber, Piper Barber, Spencer Barber, and
Paisley Barber Numerous Nieces and Nephews 

Jerry Wayne West 
Hartselle 

Jerry Wayne West, beloved Husband, Daddy, Pappy, Poppy, Papa Bear, Pops,
brother, and respected member of the community, passed away on Friday, April
5, 2024, at the age of 79, in Hartselle.
He was born on May 5, 1944, in Ashland, Tenn., to the late Pat Wilson West and
Marion Blanche Goad West.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Paula West and children Tami West
Hellums (Wayne), Ashley Janicki and Steve West (Jacki) He is also survived by two cherished grandchildren, a granddaughter, Amber Green, a grandson, Grayson West, three very special sisters, Wanda West Nichols, Judy West Sharp (Rick) and Nettie Joyce
West. His brothers Donnie Wilson West, Donald Dean West and
Gary Dale West preceded him in death.
Throughout his life, Jerry was dedicated to serving others. He worked as an
employee of both Wittichen Supply Company locations in Huntsville and
Decatur, and later became the proud owner of West Heating and Cooling in
Hartselle. His dedication to providing exceptional residential and
commercial HVAC services extended across Alabama, Texas, Kansas, Michigan,
and Arkansas. Jerry was an active member of the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers (IBEW) and ASHRAE, where he shared his expertise and
passion with his colleagues. He was also deeply involved in his faith
community, serving as Minister of Music, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher
for youth at Bethel Baptist Church in Hartselle. His passion for music
led him to be an integral member of the Revelations and Three in One gospel
quartets. A proud Navy veteran, Jerry served his country during the Vietnam
War from 1966 to 1970, demonstrating bravery and dedication in his service.
Aside from his commitments to his profession and community, Jerry was a
die-hard fan of Tennessee college football. Every Fall Saturday, he could be
heard echoing the beloved anthem, “Rocky Top,” as he cheered on his favorite
team.
A celebration of Jerry’s life was held at Peck Funeral Home on Sunday,
April 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM.  Burial will be at New Hope
North Cemetery in Falkville.
Pallbearers will be Grayson West, Rick Sharp, Jason Sharp, Tucker Sharp,
Daryl Tennyson, and Chris Nichols.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Charity/Organization of your
choice, in honor of Jerry’s life and legacy.
Jerry will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness,
generosity, and unwavering love for his faith, family, community and
country. 

Joyce Webster 
Hartselle 

A Celebration of Life Service for Joyce Webster, 76, of Hartselle, will be
held by her family at B & W Stables, 147 Saddlebred Private Drive,
Hartselle, Alabama 35640 on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
Mrs. Webster died on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Hospice Family Care. She was
born December 10, 1947, in Montreal, Canada, to James Wolfgang Berger and
Nora O’Brien Berger.
She was an Owner and Operator of B & W Stables for 55 years, where she
trained horses and riders. She loved her American Saddlebred horses and her
dogs. She taught English riding lessons. Joyce attended Life Church in
Hartselle. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, George and
Stephen Berger and a nephew Stephen Berger.
Survivors include Husband – Kenneth Webster, Son, Mark Webster, Daughter, Elizabeth Harris, Brother, Ronnie Berger,and Five Grandchildren – Adam Webster, Webb Harris, Ella Webster, Layne Webster and A.J. Webster.
Family requests memorial donations be made to the National Academy of
Championship Horse Shows, who supports St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
