Priceville splits with visiting Austin

The Priceville boys’ and girls’ basketball teams opened the 2024 portion of their schedule with a visit from 7A Austin. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Austin 55-34, while the Bulldogs fell 89-36 in the nightcap.

Girls
Priceville 55, Austin 34

The 6th ranked team in 4A dominated the 7A Lady Black Bears from the tip in their 55-34 win on Jan. 2. Priceville jumped out to a 14-6 first-quarter lead and led 32-23 at halftime. They held Austin to 11 points in the second half to pull away for the win.

Abby Langlois had her second career triple-double, 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks, to lead Priceville. She has had eight double-doubles this season, with five coming in her last six games. Carly Nelson added nine points and three steals, while Ashlyn Johnson had eight points. Gracin Prater finished with six points and six assists.

Boys
Austin 89, Priceville 36

The 4th ranked team in 7A cruised to a blowout victory over Priceville to open 2024. Austin led 21-9 after the first quarter and 46-14 at halftime in their 89-36 win.

Sammy Holmes and Luke Hood each scored 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. Hood finished with seven rebounds, while Holmes had six.
