Patriots run away from Ardmore in 57-16 win

The Brewer Patriots opened 2024 with a 41-point victory over visiting Ardmore in a battle of 5A teams. The win came after the Lady Patriots fell 57-49 to the Lady Tigers on Jan. 2.

Boys
Brewer 57, Ardmore 16

Brewer held Ardmore to a season-low 16 points in the Patriots 57-16 win. It was Brewer’s best defensive effort of the season. The Patriots led 22-5 after the first quarter and 35-10 at halftime. Ardmore was held to six points in the second half.

Jackson Dunn led Brewer with 11 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Cam Ballinger added 10 points and three steals. Cason Oden finished with seven points and Walker Latham added six points. Cole Smith and Dayton Wilson each had six rebounds.

Girls
Ardmore 57, Brewer 49

The Lady Patriots jumped out to a 14-7 first-quarter lead but couldn’t keep their momentum as Ardmore outscored Brewer 30-11 in the second to grab a 37-25 halftime lead.

Madisyn Freeman scored 17 points to lead the Lady Patriots. Lilly Yancy added 10 points and eight rebounds.
