Priceville drops region game in loss to Westminster

The Priceville Bulldogs battled for 48 minutes but came out with a 36-29 loss to region champ Westminster Christian.

Blitz Clemons led the way for Priceville with 176 yards rushing and four touchdowns, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs couldn’t hold a late lead.

Priceville scored first on a Clemons’ two-yard run to take an 8-0 lead. He added a four-yard scoring run late in the first half before Westminster, giving the Bulldogs a 15-14 lead heading into halftime.

Clemons opened the second half with a 66-yard scoring run to help extend the Priceville lead to 23-14. A few minutes later, he added a four-yard run to give the Bulldogs a 29-14 lead.

However, Priceville couldn’t stop the Westminster offense, who outscored the Bulldogs 22-0 down the stretch to secure the 36-29 win and a region championship.

Jake England added 80 yards rushing for the Bulldogs.

Priceville (4-5, 4-2) closes region play on Friday against Randolph. The Bulldogs will need to win to ensure another playoff appearance.
