Area teams win tournament championships

It was a successful week for local volleyball teams participating in area tournaments. Four teams, Hartselle, Danville, Falkville and Priceville, won tournaments, while Brewer finished second in their area.

All five teams advance to the North Super Regional in Huntsville. They must win their first two matches to advance to the state tournament in Birmingham.

Hartselle
Defeated Cullman 3-2 in area championship

Amber Holshouser: 38 assists and 18 digs
Ashley Holshouser: 24 kills and 13 digs
Mary Frances Itsede: nine kills, seven digs and six aces
Brooklyn Stiles: 23 digs
Virginia Kate Hoyle: 13 digs and three aces
