Mt. Nebo Baptist Church to host Trunk or Treat Oct. 29

Sam Hancsak, a dedicated Morgan County 4-H participant, is deserving of congratulations for achieving first place in his class and earning the overall Grand Champion title with his Dairy heifer at the recent Cullman County Fair. 

Announcement from Mt. Nebo Baptist Church 

Oct. 29 at 4 p.m., the members of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church will host a Trunk or Treat and Soup Supper. All are welcome to attend and encouraged to bring a friend. 

Morgan County Sheriff’s Posse Fundraising event The Morgan County Sheriff’s Posse is organizing Turkey Shoots to raise funds for charitable endeavors. The shoots are scheduled for Oct. 21, Oct. 28, Nov. 4, Nov. 11 and Nov. 18, at the Sheriff’s Posse Ground. Gates open at 7 a.m., with shooting commencing at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be provided, and participants stand a chance to win gift certificates to Hometown Grocery and cash prizes. Shady Grove Baptist Church members collection week 

From October 23-28 Shady Grove Baptist Church members are conducting a Collection Week for Christmas backpacks for children and teens. These backpacks, filled with new items, will be distributed to children in need across seven states. Gift suggestions include toys, art supplies, hygiene items, Children’s or Teen Bibles, hard candy (no chocolate), pop-top cans of food, age-appropriate Christian books, t-shirts, socks, gloves, and hats. Special items for older girls and boys are also encouraged. Please avoid perishable food and easily breakable items. 

Additionally, Shady Grove Baptist Church will host their Trunk or Treat Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate and decorate trunks for this community event.
