Faye Boles Willis  

Somerville 

Funeral service for Faye Boles Willis, 81, of Somerville, was Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Zeke Haselden officiating.  

Mrs. Willis died on August 12, 2023, at her residence. She was born November 8, 1941, in Morgan County to David Boles and Jewel Earline Gullion Boles. Mrs. Willis was a dental hygienist prior to her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Cotaco Methodist Church. Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, David Boles Jr. and Lester Boles; and three sisters, Bonnie Boles Dudley, Laura Boles Blann, and Anna Ruth Boles. 

Survivors include one daughter Susan Brasher (Mike); one sister Bernice Boles Fuller; two grandchildren Tiffany Brightwell (Jason) and Wesley Brasher (Lanee); five great-grandchildren Brantley and Grayson Brightwell, Ansley, Aubrey, and Austyn Brasher. Pallbearers will be Mike Brasher, Wesley Brasher, Jason Brightwell, Lee Willis, Grayson Brightwell, and Robert Wilson. 

 

 

Ted Gibson  

Farragut, Tenn.  

Ted Gibson, age 87, a long-time resident of Farragut, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, August 15, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. 

Ted was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church for 55 years and was a deacon and elder. He was a graduate of Auburn University class of 1959. Ted was a Mechanical Engineer at Oak Ridge Nuclear facilities for over 35 years. He enjoyed woodworking. Ted is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Loree “Ellie” Gibson; grandson, Micah Scott Gibson; parents, Howard Speake Gibson and Lorine Fischer Gibson.  

Ted is survived by his children, John Scott Gibson and wife Sherri;  Sally Gibson Heydasch and husband David; grandchildren, Josiah Taylor Gibson, Samuel Shea Gibson, Kristi Elizabeth Heydasch Cross and husband Andrew, Christopher David Heydasch and wife Hope, Brian Eric Heydasch; great granddaughter, Madalynn Rose; great grandsons, Jackson, Samuel and Kason; brothers, Henry and Howard; several nieces and nephews.   

Family and friends will gather at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at Concord Masonic Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church, 11000 Second Drive, Concord, Tennessee 37934. 

 

Steven Craig Segars 

Hartselle  

Funeral service for Steven Craig Segars, 71, will be Friday, August 18, 2023 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Shaddix officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. His body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. 

Mr. Segars died on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Decatur-Morgan Hospital. He was born February 14, 1952, in Morgan County, to James Odell Segars and Virginia Sharrott Segars, who preceded him in death. 

Mr. Segars was a member and Deacon at First Baptist Church of Hartselle, where he enjoyed working on projects at the church. He liked to piddle, enjoyed hunting and loved to fish in the Gulf. He also enjoyed driving around, looking at nature and taking his grandchildren to the Refuge. He was an Alabama Football fan. 

Mr. Segars was called “OPO” by his family, the “Bubble Gum man” and the “Lifesaver man” by all the kids at church. He enjoyed seeing people, visiting daily at the Lowe’s Store, loved Gospel Music and yard work. He was employed for 36 years, prior to his retirement, with BellSouth and AT&T and then worked with Magnolia River for 10 years. 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Donna Harris Segars; Steven Croft Segars (Christie—Mac) and Walter Daniel Segars (Heather); and nine grandchildren, Ila Segars, Huntley Segars, Elizabeth Segars, Lily Grace Segars, Allie Rea, Izzy Segars, Harris Segars, Elijah Segars and Easton Segars. 

Pallbearers will be Ferrell Vest, Steve McKee, Tony Riddlehoover, Fred Smith, Jim Owen, Billy McAbee, Huntley Segars and Dan Sparkman. 

 

Jeremy Barker

Falkville

A graveside guneral service and interment for Jeremy Barker, 53, was Monday,
August 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Friendship South of Danville with Bro. Clayton
Speed and Bro. Bret Pierson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. A
Private family visitation was held at Peck Funeral Home prior to the
service.
Mr. Barker died on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital.  He was
born January 29, 1970, in Morgan County to John Barker and Brenda Ann Prater
Barker.  He was a good person, loved Alabama football and really enjoyed
going to the beach. Preceded him in death were his parents: John and Brenda
Barker. Survivors include a brother, Christopher Barker. Pallbearers will be family and friends. 

 

 

William Roy Lindberg

Decatur 


Funeral service for William Roy Lindberg, 82, will be Sunday, August 27,
2023 at 2:00 PM at The Ark Worship Center with Bro. Brad Roath officiating
and Peck Funeral Home directing.  His body will lie in state for one hour
prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, on Monday, August
28, 2023.
Mr. Lindberg died on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at The Terrace at Priceville.
He was born May 15, 1941, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Willard Harding Lindberg
and Una Mae Foley Lindberg.
He married Zora Kathleen Kirby on February 14, 1964. They had two children,
Katrina and Chris and nine grandchildren. He served honorably for 33 years
in the Coast Guard and the United States Army earning the rank of Lt.
Colonel. He acheived a Bachleor of Science degree in Metallic Engineering
from the University of Florida. After his military service, he was employed
at Saginaw Steering Gear and for the United States Department of the Army as
a civilian contractor.
Mr. Lindberg retired in 2006 and enjoyed traveling around the world with his
wife. He served as a Deacon and Elder for The Ark. 

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Douglas Allen Lindberg.
Survivors include his wife Zora Kathleen “Kitty” Kirby Lindberg; son Christopher Roy Lindberg (Joanna); daughter Katrina Anne Justice (David); grandchildren Jonathan William Justice,
Kara Noelle Justice Crawford (Lonnie), Angelica Mae Justice (Fiance’-Justus Decker),
Samuel Kirby Justice (Dakota Takemori), Caleb Lindberg, Lauren Lindberg, Jayden Lindberg,Ben Lindberg and Kensie Lindberg; brother Willard Keith Lindberg; sister-in-law Jamie Kirby.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Justice, Caleb Lindberg, Samuel Justice, Larry
Fredricks, David Justice and Lonnie Crawford.

Jewell Ardella Hardin Johns
Vinemont

Funeral service for Jewell Ardella Hardin Johns, 101, will be Wednesday,
August 23, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles
Sinyard officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in
Herring Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 6:00 PM
to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johns died on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Summerford Nursing Home.  She
was born Friday, June 16, 1922, in Cullman County to Jessie J. Moore and Ara
Lee Giles Moore.  She was a homemaker for her family, she loved to sew and
crochet. She always enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of
Beulah Church of Christ in Vinemont and loved her family and her slew of
friends dearly.
Preceding her in death were a son Frankie Glenn Hardin; daughter-in-law
Mary Hardin, brother James Moore; sisters Alene Fortenberry, Carolyn
Williams and Eloise Brewer; survivors include sons Kenneth Hardin (Kathie), Wayne Hardin; stepsons Russell Johns (Patricia), Joe Johns (Gwen), Raymond Johns (Barbara) and Ronald Johns (Bonnie); step daughters Rheba Acton and Marcia Morris (Tom) grandchildren, Rhonda Hardin Duke (Steve), Cyndi Hardin Buckelew (Jason), Shannon Hardin Anderson (Stan), Tim Sandlin and Jo Sandlin. A slew of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
