“Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine”

By Gail Honeyman

Eleanor Oliphant, oddball to anyone who meets her, is quite settled in her tightly-structured world.  Everything is the same as the week before- no surprises, no changes.  Interaction with other people is limited to her co-workers at a purely professional capacity.  Socially stunted Eleanor doesn’t know that her world is about to change when she meets Raymond.  Raymond is the IT guy in her office that sees beyond her scars to the human side of her.  As the months go on, Eleanor meets new people, learns socially acceptable conversation and the joys of trying new things.  What she didn’t know was that this new growth would force her to examine what went wrong so many years ago to put her in the cocoon she built around herself.  The past has the power to undo her, but friendship may be her lifeline back to happiness.

“The Bodyguard”

By Katherine Center

In this laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, Hannah Brooks is an Executive Protection Agent or rich person bodyguard. Despite looking more like a children’s librarian, Hannah is very good at her job. She is one of the most successful agents working in the company. This success lands her the job of being the bodyguard for the one and only Jack Stapleton. He is one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. His mom is fighting cancer and he is moving back home to take care of her. There is just one little problem. A crazy stalker will stop at nothing to get to him. This is where Hannah comes in. Hannah pretends to be his new girlfriend because his family won’t question him bringing his girlfriend along to doctor’s appointments or the family ranch. It would just be a happy coincidence if they fall in love while they are pretending to be in love. This book can be found at the Library and on the Libby app.
