Local teams ranked in preseason volleyball poll

Three local teams ranked in the preseason AL.com volleyball rankings that were released this past week.

Hartselle was ranked seventh in 6A, 4A Priceville was ninth, and 3A Danville was fifth.

Six defending state champions were ranked first in their classification. The only non-state champion to be ranked first was Arab in Class 5A.

The season begins Aug. 24 for Hartselle, Brewer, Danville and Priceville, while Falkville starts Aug. 29.
