6U baseball all-stars win USSSA 6A state tournament

The Hartselle 6U baseball all-stars won the USSSA 6A state tournament in Oxford this past weekend.

After finishing pool play 1-1, the 6U Tigers advanced to the 6A bracket, where they opened with a 17-4 win over Trussville Jones. They defeated Millbrook Blue 24-16 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. In the semis, they defeated Alexander City 19-16 to secure a spot in the finals. To win the bracket, they defeated Gordo 16-8 in the championship game.

Players include Ben Reeves, Pruitt Sparkman, Truett Hargett, Drake LeMay, Charlie Holifield, Brewer McKelvey, Lucas McNeal, Tucker Moore, Milan Rabb, Monti Orr and Briggs McCaghren.

Coaches include Grant McKelvey, Justin Hargett, Brian Sparkman, Michael Holifield and Chris LeMay.
