$5K scholarship opens to Hartselle, Morgan students

Special to the Enquirer

An annual scholarship is now available to graduating senior at Hartselle High School or Morgan County Schools.

The $5K scholarship will be awarded for the freshman year only to a student who will attend Faulkner University in Montgomery.

The scholarship is funded by the Neal and Brenda Smith IPG Trust and given to one student from Morgan County annually.

The awarded student will be chosen based first on need and then SAT/ACT scores and an essay. For more information on how to apply, an interested student may call Neal Smith at 256-773-5612 or set up an appointment with their school’s guidance counselor.

While there is no set cutoff date to apply, Smith said a student will be chosen by April 15 or the scholarship will be offered to a student outside Hartselle or Morgan County.
