By Matt Latham
For the Enquirer
The Patriots suffered their first loss of the season in a defeat to the visiting Madison Academy Mustangs. The game was a tale of two halves as the Mustangs went into halftime with only a 10-7 lead.  Explosive plays and a couple of key Patriot miscues led to the five-touchdown second half for Madison Academy and the final score of 45-7.
Kyle Minor had the big night for the Mustangs with seven receptions for 210 yards and three touchdowns.  He had touchdown catches of 86 yards, 81 yards and 4 yards.  Madison Academy finished the night with 408 yards of total offense with 287 yards through the air and 121 yards on the ground.
For the Patriots, running back Jonathan Morgan led the way with 23 carries for 100 yards, who now has two 100+ yard games in a row and a total of 371 yards on the ground for this young season.  Tanner Cobb scored the only touchdown for Brewer on a two-yard run.  For the second week in a row, Patriot defensive back Kris Bramlett intercepted a pass and now has two interceptions for the season.
The Patriots are now 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in region play.  They will travel to Madison County and play the 1-3 Tigers this Friday at 7 p.m.
