Something Blue Shoppe begins renovation, expansion

The Something Blue Shoppe in Hartselle began an expansion project last week. Owner Sarah Morris said the store will be expanding into what was formerly the Joe Roberts store.

“We plan to change the entrance from the bridal shop to the old Joe Roberts store, and then we will have a passageway that will connect the stores,” Morris said.

According to Morris, Something Blue Shoppe will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019, and this renovation will be the third for the store.

The bridal shop has one office that services five employees. Morris said the expansion will be increase the facilities from 70 square feet of storage to 500 square feet of storage. The expansion will also allow for an increase in inventory and a designated pressing room.

“We are increasing inventory in social occasions, mother of the bride and nice day dresses. We also may also increase and add accessories for the bride,” Morris said.

Morris said the expansion will focus on both the inside and the outside of the building. “We will give it an update and make it more modern but also maintain the integrity of the building.”
