Big news came out of Hartselle High School a few weeks ago when Hartselle freshmen Beau Fletcher committed to play baseball at the University of Alabama.

Fletcher received an offer from the Crimson Tide after attending the Best of Bama Showcase in October. Fletcher had previously taken visits to Florida State along with other SEC powerhouses including LSU, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt before ultimately choosing the Tide. “I believe it’s a new era for Alabama Baseball. Big things are happening, and Coach (Greg) Goff and his staff are committed to making Alabama a baseball powerhouse. Coach Goff is a dynamic coach that believes in hard work and maintaining impeccable character.” Fletcher said. “He has been successful at every school he has coached at, and I believe that will continue at Alabama. Coach (Terry) Rooney was one of the top recruiters and pitching coaches at LSU as well as head coach at Central Florida, and I feel he will help with bringing in the top talent around the nation to Alabama. My class will be the first class fully recruited by the new staff, and I think it is going to be top notch.”

While Fletcher will be looking forward to his time at Alabama, he still has four years at Hartselle and is focused on helping the Tigers capture another state championship. “I am looking forward to starting my freshman year at Hartselle High school under the tutelage of Coach (William) Booth, and I am blessed beyond measure that God has granted me the opportunity to fulfill my dreams.” Fletcher said. “I am excited to get the season started. Our region is a hot bed of baseball talent with Cullman, Decatur and the Shoals. I think we will be very competitive again this year, and we will make a run for another championship.”
