Morgan County students win ribbons at Youth Goat Show

Three Morgan County students brought home ribbons from the Youth Goat Show at the Alabama National Fair Nov. 5. Their awards included: Callie Rae Childers for Overall Grand Champion Market Wether, third place in beginner division Showmanship and second place in beginner division Premier Exhibitor. Linde Jo Fagan won Overall Reserve Grand Champion Market Wether, fifth place in beginner division Showmanship and third place in beginner division Premier Exhibitor and Colt Childers took sixth place in beginner division Showmanship and Premier Exhibitor.

The Premier Exhibitor contest takes into account show participation and a written exam.

Hundreds of youth from across Alabama participate in livestock shows during the Alabama National Fair, exhibiting swine, goats, sheep, dairy cows and beef cattle. The Alabama Farmers Federation and Alfa Insurance sponsor these livestock events.
