MSGT Paul F. ‘Buddy’ Tapscott

Funeral for MSGT Paul F. “Buddy” Tapscott , 73, was Sun., April 24, at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Clyde Ledlow and the Rev. Joey Coots officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Tapscott died Fri., April 22, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born July 9, 1942, in Morgan County to Clarence Paul Tapscott and Frances Catherine Wiley Tapscott. He served with the U.S. Army for almost 30 years. He was a Mason and a Gideon and was a licensed a pilot. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty Sue Clines Tapscott; a daughter, Joy Tapscott Tomlinson; and a sister, Shirley Tapscott Johnson. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Daina Horton for her love and support.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Tapscott; a son, Chris Alexander (Terri); five daughters, Jackie Tapscott Eubanks (Greg), Melody Tapscott Alexander (Michael), Valerie Tapscott Scroggins (Mike), Gina Livingston (Andy Birdwell) and Jennifer Harding (Peter); a brother, Wayne Tapscott (Terisa); nine grandchildren, Shanna Culp, Brandy Myrick, Josh Hensley, Trevor Stange, Mason Livingston, Dustin Shelton, Hunter Livingston, Justin Tomlinson and Christian Tomlinson; four great-grandchildren, Jordan Culp, Gavin Culp, Layton Stange and Carter Stange; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were grandsons and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hartselle in memory of Paul “Buddy” Tapscott.
