First Baptist Church Falkville welcomes new pastor

First Baptist Church Falkville welcomed a new pastor Sun., Feb. 7. Brother Stephen Cannon, wife Anna and three sweet children. We are excited about the things God has in store for our church.

Falkville First Baptist Church women’s Bible study met at Rita Burden’s home on Feb. 8. The lesson, taught by June Walling, centered on the trials and faith of Joseph. Attending were Geraldine Rowe, Charlotte Morris, Sarah Laughmiller and Barbra Fields.

Young at Heart of First Baptist Church Falkville met in the dining hall of the church for their February luncheon.

Attending were Vaughn and Rita Burden, Barbara Fields, Geraldine Rowe, John Moore, June Walling, Alfred and Linda Bryan, Bruce and Georgia Treece, Joe and Fran Edmundson and Dwight and Linda Alldredge.

A Swamp John’s dinner will be at First Baptist Church Falkville March 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. You will have your choice of fish, shrimp or chicken, served with hush puppies, fries, dessert and tea. Tickets are $11. For more information, call 256-784-5827.

Attending the Valentine party at Falkville Senior Center Feb. 12 were Floyd and Grace Bradford, Martha Garrison, Adell Gibson, Roy and Lilly Ball, Kerry and Jenny Kelsey and Judy McClellan. Also attending were Robert Morris, Movlyn Roberson, David Scott, Charles and Linda Williams and Alice Dutton. They have line dancing classes every Tuesday at 10 a.m. For more information, call 256-784-5909.
