Varwig, Gilbert to wed in June

Tom and Robin Varwig of Hartselle are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie June Varwig, to Jeremy Matthew Gilbert, son of Frank and Brenda Gilbert of Lisbon, Ohio.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Doug and Barbara Merchant of Owens Cross Roads and John Varwig of St. Charles, Mo. and the late Millie Varwig. She is a 2012 graduate of Hartselle High School and is currently a senior at Columbia International University, Columbia, S.C., majoring in business and organizational leadership.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Robert and Judy Baer of Lisbon, Ohio and John and Betty Ann Gilbert of Hopewell, Penn. He is a 2011 graduate of Beaver Local High School in Lisbon, Ohio and a 2015 graduate of Columbia International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Bible teaching. He is currently employed as a Bible teacher at Southside Christian School in Greenville, S.C.

The wedding is planned for June 12, 2016, at 6 p.m. in Mooresville.
