There were many tough matchups’ for the Priceville basketball teams last week including games vs. top ranked Westminster. First up though the Priceville boys team took on the Lawrence County Red Devils.

The Bulldogs were able to outscore the Red Devils in 3 of the 4 quarters en route to a 48-37 victory. Marc McLendon and Noah Fortner led the Bulldogs with 15 and 9 points respectively. Others scoring were Austin Smith with 6 points, Parker Gwin with 5 points, Kyle Haynes with 3 points, Dylan Cross and Aubrey Richardson both had 1 point. Jared McKely and Andrew Hester each tallied 4 points.

The Bulldogs toughest game came when they took on the Westminster Wildcats who are one of the top teams in the state. Priceville opened up the game with a 19-11 first quarter. However, the Wildcats managed to come back and win the game on a last second basket 50-48. Kyle Haynes led the Bulldogs with 23 points while Parker Gwin backed him up with 8 points. Also scoring for the Bulldogs was Austin Smith with 7 points, Marc McLendon with 6 points. Aubrey Richardson and Noah Fortner each had 2 points.

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs also took on the Westminster Wildcats. The Bulldogs controlled the majority of the game en route to a 45-33 victory. Skyler Benson and Ashlee Quinn led the stats for the Bulldogs with 14 and 9 points. Others scoring for the Bulldogs was Kele Nelson wit 8 points, Kathleen Wheeler with 6 points, Mia Grantland with 4 points, Kenzie Price with 3 points and Jenna Walker with 1 point.
