Coree Elizabeth Long Vest

Funeral for Coree Elizabeth Long Vest of Hartselle will be Wed., Oct, 21, at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with Bros. Tom Elder and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state for one hour before the service at the church.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Vest died Sun., Oct. 18, 2015, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, extended family and many supportive friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Greer Vest; her mother, Nancy Myrtle McDonald; her father, Solomon Benjamin Long; her second mother, Mae McGregor Long; brothers, Robert Long, Clifton “Shorty” Long, Ottis Long, Calvin “Mac” McGregor and Curtis McGregor; sisters, Lisa Kay Long and Betty Callahan; and a son-in-law, Dean Stroupe.

She is survived by three sons, Derry Vest, Tommy C. Vest (Malinda) and Dalton Vest, all of Hartselle; two daughters, Greerlyn Stroupe of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Saronda Vest (Randy) of Hartselle; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren with two more expected; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rodney Harney, M.D. and staff, the entire staff of Falkville Healthcare and Hospice of the Valley.
