The sun eventually broke through the clouds Saturday morning and made way for a great Falkville Fall Festival. As the sun came out so did the crowds and those looking to enjoy a day of food, fun, music and fellowship.

The 18th annual event kicked off with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Volunteer Fire Department. The Color Me Downtown 5k run/walk was held for the third year also.

There were activities for all ages from the blow up slide for the kids to the tractor show and antique cars for the adults. Falkville Library offered bags of books for only $5 and many of the churches in the Falkville area had booths set up, giving away snacks and water and information about their respective churches.

Shiny antique tractors made their way through town in their own parade and were on display for the festival attendees to look over. Several of the tractors on display had been in families for many generations and had been restored back to almost new.

Antique and collectible automobiles were also on display for enthusiasts and others to view.

There were vendors selling food and other items, vendors selling and promoting their services and also arts and crafts were available on the streets at the festival as well.

Jeff Whitlow and The Old Barn Band played and sang for the folks beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Featured country artist Darryl Worley entertained those in attendance at the festival at 1  p.m. Both groups played to standing room only crowds on the streets Saturday morning and afternoon.

There were several participants in the Falkville Fall Decorating Contest.  Winners of the Church division were 1st Place Pine Street, 2nd Place First Baptist and 3rd Place Victory Fellowship.

Winners in the business division were 1st Place Falkville Senior Center, 2nd Place Apple’s Florist and 3rd Place Falkville Post Office.
